When you travel in an RV with a dog, space matters. Comfort matters even more.
So we tested two popular options with Abi:
FurHaven Orthopedic Bed
Coolaroo Elevated Bed
And yes… she definitely had a favorite.
The FurHaven Orthopedic Bed
This is your classic soft, supportive bed.
Pros:
very comfortable
great for longer rest
good for older dogs
Cons:
takes up more space
can get warm
Abi used this one mostly at night or when she wanted to really relax.
The Coolaroo Elevated Bed
This one is raised off the ground and allows airflow.
Pros:
stays cool
easy to clean
great for warm climates
Cons:
not as cushioned
some dogs take time to get used to it
This bed works great during the day, especially in warmer weather.
So… which bed did she choose?
It wasn’t even close.
Abi went back to the Coolaroo more often during the day, especially when it was warm. But at night, she preferred the FurHaven.
What we learned
You don’t need just one.
If you have the space, having both gives your dog options:
elevated bed for daytime
orthopedic bed for sleep
Final thoughts
Every dog is different, but comfort + temperature control is the key.
Watch your dog. They’ll tell you what they like.
Abi definitely did.
